Our Legacy
Founded in 1996 by Emilio Demirkol, father of Will Demirkol, our restaurant has proudly served the Menlo Park community for nearly three decades. From Scala Mia to Angelo Mio and now Roma Italian Cuisine, every chapter has been built on family, tradition, and genuine hospitality. While our name has evolved, our commitment to authentic Italian cuisine and making every guest feel at home remains unchanged.
The Second Generation
That chapter also marked the beginning of a new generation.
Will Demirkol, known to many as Tony, stepped away from a lifelong pursuit of professional soccer—after competing in both the United States and Turkey—to help his father preserve everything their family had built. What began as a temporary sacrifice soon became a true passion. Today, he is dedicated to honoring his family's legacy while creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through Roma's doors.
The Story Continues
What began as a sacrifice became a calling. Since taking over, Will has not only preserved the restaurant’s legacy but elevated it, exceeding expectations and pushing Roma forward while staying true to its roots. Roma is more than a restaurant—it’s a story of family, resilience, and generations working side by side to keep something meaningful alive.
Now in our third decade, our story continues.
