Our Legacy
Our story begins in 1996, when Emilio Demirkol opened his first restaurant with a simple vision: serving honest food with heart. Originally named Scala Mia, it evolved two years later into Angelo Mio, becoming a beloved neighborhood staple for over two decades. At the start of the pandemic, the business faced a defining moment. Instead of slowing down, we chose to begin again, and with renewed vision and energy, the restaurant was reborn as Roma—a new name built on decades of tradition.
The Second Generation
That moment became a turning point for the next generation. Will Demirkol, known to many as Tony, stepped in to lead the restaurant and continue his father’s journey. At the time, Will was pursuing a professional soccer career that began in the U.S. and later took him to Turkey, while also building a music career with over one million YouTube views. After a serious injury and with his family needing support, he stepped away from his dream to help his father and protect the family business
The Story Continues
What began as a sacrifice became a calling. Since taking over, Will has not only preserved the restaurant’s legacy but elevated it, exceeding expectations and pushing Roma forward while staying true to its roots. Roma is more than a restaurant—it’s a story of family, resilience, and generations working side by side to keep something meaningful alive.
Now in our third decade, our story continues.
